So, the ALS was a success.  Congradts to all the newly elected. 

As the new Campaign Director, I’m anxiously awaiting our first meeting.  For those who saw the sneak preview of the wiki at the ALS – stay tuned.  With comfirmation from the new exec, and after we decide some key administrative attributes of the site, we’ll officially launch.   One meeting, that’s all it’s going to take.

If you haven’t heard of the libertarian party, I’d like to point out that we are neither conservative, nor liberal. We are an organized, passionate, third corner of the political arena. We have a different way of thinking, about “the system”.

The libertarian platform pivots around limiting government to a size that it should be. In our definition, that’s anything that’s essential to maintain life, liberty, and property. That means any spending with the exception of courts & police, is open for debate. We view taxes as an economic burden, that should be reduced. We have ideas for a more sustainable health-care system. We think the quality of education, could be drastically and easily improved. We don’t believe pensions and insurance should be mandatory. We believe reducing the waste in the current system, will improve the standard of living, increase leisure time, and drive innovation – for the benefit of everybody. Ideally our policy would increase economic growth and innovation at the same rates, in order for humans to be less of a burden on the environment, without burying our children’s futures, with debt.

The libertarians are going to run between 50 and the maximum 107 candidates this fall. I see my joining the party, as an investment in the future.
